October 8, 2014 Cornuda (TV): Wladimiro Bedin, CEO of BEDIN Shop Systems, today announced that Tempur-Pedic deployed aKite, the first POS & InStore SaaS designed from the ground to use the power of Microsoft Azure for Retail chains. By utilizing Microsoft Azure services, including Web Sites, SQL, CDN, Serivce Bus and Active Directory, BEDIN Shop Systems was able to focus on delivering scalable investment and power to its aKite Retail Web Services SaaS for retail stores like Tempur-Pedic.

For the expansion of their network of directly operated stores, the Italian branch direction has entrusted the IT management for a selection of the POS software best suitable to the needs of integration, reliability and safety of operation under all conditions, in order to "sleep soundly."

On top of a continuous integration with their Microsoft Dynamics AX enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, another requirement was to take customer orders from the POS and manage the delivery from the ERP. Items like pillows are bought and paid upfront, but mattresses are bulky items available in so many options that shipment from central warehouse directly to the customer home is the best way to go. Another request was the possibility to run the POS software in a Tablet in order to allow the store associate to follow the customer and have access to options and prices.
