aKite at 'OnDemand Europe 2010' in London

Wladimiro Bedin, President of BEDIN Shop Systems, has been invited to speak about “Pricing Models” at one the most important Cloud Computing conference that will be held in London from 18th to 20th of October.

aKite is the first example of POS and In-Store Software as a Service (SaaS) delivered from a modern Platform as a Service (PaaS) and thus from “real” Cloud Computing.

Old server-centric applications ported to an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), the lower Cloud computing layer, are more complex to manage, less scalable, lower in Service Level (SLA) and also more expensive. Thus the total quality of service delivered from a software explicitly designed for modern Cloud Computing is higher. It should be no surprise as higher quality and lower cost are main technology evolution drivers.

One of the Retail special characteristic is the coexistence of independents, vast chain of small stores, small chain of big stores and all variations in between. aKite pricing model is simple and yet able to reflect the complexity.
